Methods and expertise to analyze sources of color changes on PTFE based cookware.
Cookware articles using PTFE based coatings are well known for their outstanding non-stick properties.
Nevertheless, the overall color of the article tends to change to yellow and light brown after intensive use.
We are looking for new analytical methods, or for a subcontractor, to detect and understand where the staining occurs in the coating (top layers, primer layers) and its chemical nature.
Use real foodstuff (milk, eggs), use simplified or simulated food ingredients, marked molecules …to generate staining
All analytical techniques are valid options: TEM, ToF-SIMs, D-SIMS, high resolution microscopy… (sample area : 100 cm2 – possibility to cut / thickness 25 microns)
We will review submitted proposals and select multiple candidates for detailed investigation. We will execute a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) only with selected submitters, seek further information disclosure, and discuss targets.
We will then select the best candidate by evaluating the potential of the proposed technology.
The details for any collaboration will be determined through consultation and negotiation.
