Global method to measure the corrosion resistance of aluminum non-stick cookware.


We currently evaluate the corrosion resistance of our products by a visual counting of the number of corrosion pits after 20h at 85°C in a chloride solution (current internal reference test). This methodology shows a lack of precision (high dispersion of the results due to both corrosion generation method and corrosion pits counting).

We are seeking a new metrological method to evaluate more precisely the corrosion resistance of aluminum non-stick cookware

This method should be quantitative, precise, and reproducible.

 

- Electrochemistry, including impedancemetry.

- Test in climate chamber, including salt spray.

- Acoustic emission testing.

The test could be composed of 2 parts:

- One step in which corrosion is produced under relevant conditions regarding usage conditions of aluminium non-stick cookware.

One step in which the results of the corrosion is measured.

 

The method should be effective:

-          Closed to boiling temperature

-          In chloride solution

The result of this new test should be comparable to our current internal reference test.

 

We will review submitted proposals and select multiple candidates for detailed investigation. We will execute a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) only with selected submitters, seek further information disclosure, and discuss targets

 

We will then select the best candidate through evaluation of the potential of the proposed technology.

 

The details for any collaboration will be determined through consultation and negotiation.
